• Allows sales team to always be “connected” and have access to critical information
  • Increases sales per agent
  • Allows client meetings to be shorter and more informative
  • Provides targeted information
  • Improves the customer experience

A typical example of a mobile SFA application business process is seen in Figure 2.4.

As you can see in Figure 2.4, the salesperson can now submit proposals while in front of the customer, saving value-added time. The summary of a CGE&Y cost/benefit analysis shown in Figure 2.5 provides an example of how mobility can reduce costs and potentially increase revenue with sales force mobility tools.

Executive Management Dashboard

An executive dashboard is a management tool that provides an executive with key corporate performance measures. By having critical performance indicators at their fingertips, executive decision makers can quickly gauge the state of a particular business process and initiate action. Although capable of showing metrics for the company as a whole, the dashboard usually focuses on providing information specific to the company’s individual business units. The dashboard monitors the performance of such business units, and displays the data in aggregate form, sparing the dashboard user from getting lost in the data. An executive dashboard mobile application can provide the following functions:

  • Financial performance
  • Operational performance
  • Employee productivity metrics
  • Customer satisfaction metrics

A more detailed case study on an executive dashboard application is covered in Chapter 10.
