Portables
Manufacturers and distributors of handsets, including cellular phones, PDAs, smartphones, two-way pagers, telemetry and Telematics devices, wireless Internet appliances and other hybrids offer the gateways through which end-users communicate, access content, or conduct transactions. Companies that are well known for their wide range of data-enabled cellular phones and so-called smartphones, the combination of a cellular phone and a PDA, include Ericsson, Handspring, Kyocera, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony-Ericsson, Siemens, Touchpoint/LG, and others.
PDAs are supplied by an even larger group, including Acer, Audiovox, Casio, Dell, Fujitsu/Siemens, Handspring, Hewlett-Packard, NEC, Palm, Research in Motion, Sony, Sharp, Symbol Technologies, T-Mobile, Toshiba, Viewsonic, Zayo, and others. Two-way pagers are currently marketed by Glenayre, Motorola, Research in Motion, and Skytel.
