There are three steps that are a must for an affiliate marketer to be successful.

There are many other things you need to do but these steps are very crucial to your success as an affiliate marketer. Most affiliate marketers think that there must be some kind of magic formula and they are forever on this quest, but what it really boils down to are these tried and tested methods which always work. They are the backbone of affiliate marketing. So having said all that, lets get down to it.
The three steps:
Step 1.
Promote products of different categories separately on different web pages. Don’t have a website full of all sorts of bits and bobs bundled together in the hope that the customer might see something of interest and buy. Nope, the traffic that you will be directing to your sales page will be focused and targeted. The prospect will have shown an initial interest in what you have on offer and would have been searching for it in the first place. If you have contradicting products the customer will get confused, and you know what they say “a confused mind does not buy” and if it did, it would sooner or later complain and ask for a refund. Your customer will not be a 100% happy. My Mantra is “Build Good Relationships with your Clients”, and that brings me to my next step..
Hint – develop a list.
Step 2.
Develop a list of customers for these products by using an opt -in list to collect prospects name and email details. Having customers ready, willing and able for what you have to offer is key to your success. A good affiliate marketing ebook would teach this. The way you build and keep your customers is through regular communication (remember your customers are the single most valuable assets to your success). Never forget this, ever. “Build Good Relationships with your Clients”.I mean lets have a look at this in another way. A prospect arrives at your site, couldn’t make up their mind to buy there and then and left. How will you get a second chance to explain to the prospect that what you are offering is the best thing for what they need, if you didn’t have a way of communicating with your prospects. By having a way of capturing information about your prospects by which you can keep in touch with them, you will open a way of communicating with them. This way you can keep in touch and promote your products and also this will allow you to place in their emails more information periodically about your products. This will give them a another chance to buy. Most of all this allows you to build a good relationship with your customer. Affiliate marketing as well as all marketing has at the heart of it, building good relationships with your customers.
Step 3.
Get your target traffic right. Concentrate on your target specific traffic for your product. Think about it. What use is it having people come to your site who have no interest in the product or service that you are offering. Write articles in article directories and submit them for publication in your appropriate category market this way you are focusing on your target customers. Publish two or more article s a week. By doing this every week you will generate interest and get links back to your web page or landing page.
